Is Repentance Necessary for Salvation?

Repentance Review

In the Bible, the word repent means: to change one’s  m __ __ __ .

For salvation, repentance means changing your mind from rejection of Christ to

f __ __ __ __  in Christ.

There are 3 possible ways to reject Christ:

1) W __ __ __ __ __ __   R e j e c t i o n  =  “I don’t believe that Jesus is the Son of God or the Savior.”

2) I g __ __ __ a n c e  =  “There are many religions. One is just as good as another.”

3) D i s i n t __ __ __ __ __  =  “There are more important things in life than believing in Jesus.”

It is important to remember that repentance is not a work we do to  e __ __ __  salvation.

But as John the Baptist preached in Matthew 3:8: “Produce  w __ __ __ __  in keeping with repentance.”

In other words, repentance is a change of  m __ __ __  about Jesus that results in a change of

a c __ __ __ __  in my life. Therefore, when my mind (or heart) is changed, my behavior will

begin to  c h __ __ __ __  also.
