Our Niche
Tree houses, comfortable laps, and snuggly beds all share the same trait: they are places children go to wonder, marvel, learn, and grow. Kid Niche Christian Books produces resources that help kids find such a place right in their own hearts—guiding them to understand who God is and how to interact with him in meaningful, life-changing ways.
Our Mission
Kid Niche Christian Books is our ministry out of which we produce family-friendly, skill-based biblical resources for those who desire to know and talk with the one true God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Our children’s books help parents mentor their kids in the teachings of Jesus rooted in the Lord’s Prayer. Our tween and teen materials help young people grow in their relationship with God on the basis of truth, quality communication, and friendship.
Our Author, Susan Case Bonner
Susan is a hungry-for-God, hungry-for-fun type person, which means she loves to learn more about God through the exploration of His amazing Word and interesting world.
Graduating from Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1977, she has used her degree in Biblical Education to draw children into the wonder of knowing God through his Word.
As a Christian school teacher, Christian education director, Sunday school teacher, homeschool teacher, and chapel and conference speaker, Susan has dedicated the last five decades of her life to teaching the Bible simply, effectively, and creatively—engaging kids of all ages.
Susan currently writes and publishes children’s books and Bible curriculum in the lovely historic town of Marshall, Michigan, with her husband, Keith, a retired air traffic controller. She has raised two children, is blessed with 2 granddaughters, and enjoys antiquing and interior design.

One of the highlights was hearing from the other authors and illustrators who were able to be present—the winners represented 35 U.S. states and 3 countries outside the U.S.
And then, of course, there was the honor of sharing this moment with my husband, my son, and my mom—it was all simply glorious!
How Our Family Friendly Prayer Resources Came to Be
Prayer is life-changing for people of all ages. That’s why at Kid Niche Christian Books mentoring children in meaningful prayer is our passion, our niche.
That passion began decades ago when I struggled with how to teach my first child to talk with God in a meaningful way. And then it occurred to me: by combining the concepts that Jesus taught His disciples in the Lord’s Prayer with my young daughter’s way of saying things, I had my answer – and the foundation of Kid Niche Christian Books was born.
But just like any worthwhile endeavor, prayer skills must be practiced and refined. Therefore, as I shared my child’s winsome prayer with other families, I realized parents still needed help in the mentoring process.
- So I wrote a learning guide for parents that biblically explained the prayer.
- Then I turned the prayer into a fun flip-book devotional illustrated with wide-eyed tree frogs for young readers to use on their own.
- Next, I produced 80 Bible and prayer workbook pages for upper elementary kids along with 240 internet activities to help them apply what they had learned.
- And finally, I developed a Pray-Like-Jesus Journal for maturing teens who longed to know how they could venture into a 2-way conversation with God -- in which they both learned to listen for His voice and wait for His answers.
As a result, Kid Niche Christian Books now produces a broad range of family-friendly, skill-based biblical resources that guide parents in mentoring their children – preschool through teens -- in the practice of meaningful prayer. And one of the side benefits is that parents can learn and grow right along with their kids.
