76a — Is it Okay to Pray to the Holy Spirit?
Do We Pray to the Father, the Son, or the Holy Spirit?
Have you ever wondered if it’s okay to pray to the Holy Spirit? I mean, since God is a Trinity and each of the 3 Persons in the 1 God has a name, is it alright to address them individually?
We know that Jesus prayed to his Father and taught his disciples to pray that way also — but does that mean we are never to directly call out to Jesus? After all, Peter cried out to Jesus for help when he began to sink in the sea. And the Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit lives inside us, hearing every groan of our souls — so it seems only natural in times of distress to pray directly to him, right?
Let’s see what wisdom Dr. Charles Stanley from In Touch Ministries can share with us on this subject.
My Prayer
Dearest Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — the 3 in 1 God, Thank you that you do not compete with each other for my attention. Thank you that you love me and seek me with a unified love. Thank you that your communication with one another is instantaneous. Thank you that you gladly hear me when I pray no matter whose name I use. Thank you so much for being such an amazing 3 in 1 God. Amen.
