How God Sees Things —

Jesus told stories with hidden meanings called parables. They were short, simple stories about everyday life that taught a heavenly lesson. They helped people who were listening better understand the way God sees things.

One of these parables was about a Pharisee and a tax collector. Pharisees were religious leaders who were admired for their clean living — they carefully followed all the rules. In contrast, tax collectors were hated, because they became rich by collecting more money from people than the government required.

Dear Jesus, Help me to be humble. Help me to remember that only you are perfect and that I need to be forgiven for my sins just like everyone else. Thank you. Amen.
