Am I Really a Sinner? —

Some people don’t feel like they need a Savior, because they’ve never committed a terrible crime like robbery or murder. Watch the following video produced by Inspiration Ministries to see what God thinks.

Then print off the colorful worksheet below to more fully understand the concept of sin.

Calling Sin By Name Worksheet

Since everyone is a sinner, everyone needs a Savior — even children.

Click here to see how many sins you can identify by name.

(The answers are below.)

My Prayer

Dearest Father, Thank you that you desire a relationship with me so much that you sent your Son to take the punishment for my sins. I believe you when you say that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. I confess to you that I have sinned and I call upon Jesus to be my Savior. Thank you so much. Amen.

Suggested Activities

1) Write a private note to Jesus telling him about a specific sin you have committed and asking him to forgive you. Place a nail through the note and pound it into a piece of wood as if it was being nailed to the cross along with Jesus. Then thank Jesus for completely forgiving you and for being your Savior. (One of the great promises in the Bible is found in I John 1:9. It says that when we confess our known sins, God is faithful not only to forgive those sins, but also to cleanse us from all other sins in our lives that we aren’t even aware of. What a great promise!)

2) Discuss layers of sin such as laziness and anger. Proverbs 18:9 states that being lazy is like being the brother of a vandal (a person who deliberately destroys the property of others). How is laziness like vandalism? Also Jesus taught in Matthew 5:21-24 that if you call someone a mean name or get angry with him, it is like being guilty of murder. How are anger and murder alike? (Notice Jesus states that meanness and anger are sins needing a two way confession — an apology to both the other person and to God. These type of apologies takes courage, but they are well worth it!)
