Resurrection: The Dead Come Alive —
For all you budding theologians who like to think deeply about the meaning of Jesus’ death and resurrection, here is a lofty activity for you.
1) Watch the following video by Chris Powers/Full of Eyes about the dead coming back to life.
2) Then read the 5 Bible passages below that teach the major ideas in the video.
3) Watch the video again and match each Bible passage to the scene it describes.
(Hint: The passages are listed in the order they appear and the bolded words are clues.)
1 Peter 2:24 ESV
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

Genesis 3:14-15 ESV
The Lord God said to the serpent,
“Because you have done this,
cursed are you above all livestock
and above all beasts of the field;
on your belly you shall go,
and dust you shall eat
all the days of your life.
I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.”
John 8:34, 36 ESV
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
My Prayer
Dear Lord, you are good. Oh God, you are good. Thank you, Jesus, that you have defeated sin and death by dying on the cross and coming back to life. Thank you that you have the power to forgive my sins and make me new — giving me life that will last forever. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Jesus. Amen.
